Are you an experienced data analyst with credit risk and analytical skills.

Our client a dynamic and creative company in the Financial Services arena is looking for you.

Key Performance Areas – Acquisition and Limit Management Responsibilities

  • Review credit results and recommend changes to ensure they are in line with business risk expectations.
  • Actively review and change credit strategy.
  • Monitor and implement credit scoring.
  • Statistical modeling and SQL data extraction.
  • Ensure the compliance of credit legislations are met.
  • Review and recommend updates to the risk strategy for both new and existing business.
  • Prepare and present a detailed monthly report on the status of the credit portfolio.
  • Work closely with the credit operations teams to ensure that the best results are obtained.
  • Be responsible for various forecast models that show the various impacts of strategic credit decisions
  • Mentor junior team members and ensure that they have a career plan.
  • Be able to lead and assist in credit related analysis.

 

Key Performance Areas – Fraud Responsibilities

  • Review fraud reports and recommend changes to ensure the levels of fraud is contained.
  • Actively review and change fraud strategy.
  • Monitor and implement fraud scoring.
  • Statistical modeling and SQL data extraction.
  • Ensure the compliance of credit legislations are met.
  • Review and recommend updates to the fraud strategy for both new and existing business.
  • Work closely with the fraud operations teams to ensure that the best results are obtained.
  • Be responsible for monitoring fraud systems and ensure controls are in place.
  • Mentor junior team members and ensure that they have a career plan
  • Be able to lead and assist in fraud related analysis

 

Key Performance Areas – Collections

  • Review collection results and recommend changes to ensure they are in line business risk expectations.
  • Statistical modeling and SQL data extraction.
  • Ensure the compliance of credit legislations are met.
  • Review and recommend updates to risk strategy for both early and late stage collections portfolios.
  • Monitor and review external debt collection performance.
  • Prepare and present a detailed monthly report on the status of the credit portfolio.
  • Work closely with the collections operational team to ensure that the best yields are obtained.
  • Responsible for the sale of uncollectable debt.
  • Be responsible for the legal forecast intake and recovery models.
  • Responsible for the provision model.

 

Experience & Skills required

  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Credit Risk
  • A minimum of 3 years analytics experience in acquisitions and lending
  • A numerate degree e.g. BCom, B Bus Sci, B Eng, BSc
  • Advanced computer literacy skills with a high proficiency in MS Excel & SQL
  • The ability to integrate and interpret numerical and statistical information
  • Microsoft Power BI advantageous
